Courageous

I have heard this song a lot over the last few months. I have listened to the words but have never taken them to heart. On December 12th my grandfather had a major surgery. On that day I was in and out of the car a lot, and every time I got into the car this song was playing on the radio. I thought wow they play that song a lot. By the 3rd time I had heard it that day it hit me. Read the words. You'll see what I'm talking about. I had to stop and ask myself who am I? Am I being courageous? We are children of God. What more can anyone need or want? We need to let the world see the love of Jesus in and through us... My favorite part in the song is where is says "the only way we'll ever stand is on our knees with lifted hands." How real is that? Talk about total surrender. Love it!

Courageous by Casting Crowns

We were made to be courageous
We were made to lead the way
We could be the generation

That finally breaks the chain
We were made to be courageous
We were made to be courageous
We were warriors on the front lines

Standing unafraid
But now we're watchers on the sidelines
While our families slip away
Where are you, men of courage?

You were made for so much more
Let the pounding of our hearts cry
We will serve the Lord

We were made to be courageous
And we're taking back the fight

We were made to be courageous
And it starts with us tonight
The only way we'll ever stand

Is on our knees with lifted hands
Make us courageous
Lord, make us courageous

This is our resolution
Our answer to the call
We will love our wives and children
We refuse to let them fall
We will reignite the passion

That we buried deep inside
May the watchers become warriors
Let the men of God arise

We were made to be courageous
And we're taking back the fight

We were made to be courageous
And it starts with us tonight
The only way we'll ever stand

Is on our knees, with lifted hands
Make us courageous
Lord, make us courageous

Seek justice Love mercy
Walk humbly with your God (repeat)
In the war of the mind

I will make my stand
In the battle of the heart
And the battle of the hand (X2)

We were made to be courageous
And we're taking back the fight
We were made to be courageous
And it starts with us tonight

The only way we'll ever stand
Is on our knees, with lifted hands

Make us courageous
Lord, make us courageous
We were made to be courageous

Lord, make us courageous

Christmas 2011

Once up a time in a land far away lived a Daddy a Mommy and boys one, two and three...

Mommy works hard to take care of all of her boys. Doing the laundry, the dishes the cooking and cleaning she often feels like it will never end. The "other" job working at Northwest Beds is somewhat of a break from the mommy job. Ok well that was cute while it lasted. Fairy tale? Huh. The life as a mother is never ending as most of you know. God knows exactly which one of us can handle what. However I very much enjoy my life as a mother and wouldn't trade it for a full time "career" and heels that would sooner or later kill my feet.

With all the crazieness over the last few months I decided that It would be easier to put my Christmas letter on my blog that I have not updated in a very long time. Then decided that I should do a better job at it. So now that Christmas cards have been mailed I figured I'd better be for putting something up...

Januray - WOW. Can you say crazy? Unexpected? Life changing? How about miracle? Or Blessing? Joshuah was in the hospital for a few days with pnuemonia and as you know the day he went home I went into the hospital. I can close my eyes and go right back to that time in a second. I can't get over all of the details. Nor can I logically understand how I am still alive. Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you declars the Lord, plans to give you hope and a future.

Febuary - I came home from the hospital the beginning of the month and started my "life" again. That is a very hard thing to do with you've been out of it for what seems like years. I had and still have a great support system and so thankful for everyone that was around to help me get back into the swing of things. Andrew turned 5 on the 17th. I cannot believe how wild and silly he is. Since January he has been involved in gymnastics, swimming and t-ball. He would be very content being busy with a sport of some kind all the time. We are planning on getting him started in swimming again soon. He really enjoyed it and it burns a lot of energy. He is learning how to read and spell. Can spell and write his name, say his address and learns a new memory verse for Awans every week. Fighting with Joshuah is nothing new. He and Kenyon get along well. Kenyon is still young enoug that he lets Andrew have control over him. Andrew's newest things these days "break dancing" He doesn't know it as that but it is. Chad asked him the other day what his dance/performer name is and he said "Lemonade". It is very funny to watch him dance. He totally gets into it and ends every demonstration with the splits. L.O.L

March - Went to the chapel, and we got married. Gee I really love him and we got married. March 19th Chad became our family. The boys and I love and adore him. He is such a blessing to me and I am so thankful God put him in my life. Little did I know 20 years ago that he was going to be my husband someday. We spend close to a week in Seattle for our honeymoon. Did the once in a lifetime dinner in the spaceneedle. Very neat experience but don't want to pay the price again in the near future. OH in March Ruby had her first litter of puppies. 4 BOYS!

April - Chad and Kenyon both had a birthday. Kenyon turned 1! He is fun to be around and is growing like a weed! He loves to follow the boys around and be pushed on his lightening mcqueen car by them. The three boys get alone really good. We have Kenyon with us every Wednesday evening and then every other weekend. It's not as much as we'd like but we'll take what we can get. Chad just finished school this term completing the auto body program at Lane.

May - First thing that comes to mind for May is that we celebrated my mothers birthday on the 19th with the Busters at Cinnabon. Enough said :-)

June - Aww summer. We didn't get to do much camping or take many lake trips this summer as we had hoped but are looking forward to more summer outings in the summer to come. We welcomed the arrival of cousins Jonathan and Elya's baby girl Elysia. Finally a GIRL! She is so stinkin cute!

July- Chad along with his friend Jon started a business building... mostly fences with occasional decks and sheds. They are staying busy even into these winter months. Blessing. So if you are in the area and need a new fence contact me and they'll take care of you. They're work is really great. You can also see they're page on facebook. Premium Fence & Construction

August - Andrew got to go camping a couple times with Papa, Nana, Shelby and Kayleena. At the end of the end of the season we went up for an evening and all had dinner together. Joshy still talks about that night and how he wants to go camping! During the summer we spent lots of days having lunch in the park and house of playing. Something else Joshy remembers..."I want to go eat lunch at the park!"

September - Andrew started Kindergarden! That means next year is 1st grade and that subject is not allowed in our house because mommy can't stand the sound of it! Andrew finds in quite funny and often reminds me of the upcoming tears. Once school started my work schedule changed. I was workign in the office in the mornings while Andrew was in school from 9-1130. Joshy got to spend a lot of time with Papa Chuck and Grandma Eunice. He often would get in the car after a day at their house say "mom, me have fun at gamma Euuunice's." Sweet boy.

October - October means birthdays! For dads 50th I tried to put something together and if he reads this it will be the first that he's heard of it...as far as I know. BUT it didn't work out for many reasons...however. We got to spend a really nice weekend in Lincoln City at Papa Loyds' (Marge's dads) beach house. So thankful for his generocity. Took all the kids (Kenyon didn't get to go). 11 of us in one house. Wow. Did some crabbing, played games, walked on the beach and of couse went shopping!

November - In the beginning of the month Northwest Beds opened up a store at the Gateway Mall. Thankful for the new experiece and the opportunities to share my faith with people. It's been a wild ride and I will be happy when the holidays are over and we close the store and go back to our "little" warehouse and get back into routein. Whatever that means. It was a temporary thing from the start.

December - Here we are. Joshuah turned 3 on the 5th. Meaning we hit another anniversary of many events in this month. From miracle Joshy to daddy Josh being diagnosed with cancer. Today the 22nd is the day we found out that it was indeed cancer. This year however we will NOT be spending Christmas eve at Shari's. It is a weird feeling that as I write this I am sitting next to my sleeping baby Joshuah who is hooked up to a bunch of wires having a sleep study done. Sleeping in a chair next to a loved one is not foreign to me. We think he has obstructed sleep apnea. Meaning his tonsils are too big and blocks his airway while he sleeps. And before they can be removed insurance wanted him to have a sleep study. Oh the joys...but thankful that we HAVE insurance! My grandfather....Papa Chuck had a major surgery on the 12th. We now have matching tummy scars. In the beginning his doctors told him he would be speding two weeks in the hospital. At one week he was headed home. As of yesterday he had only been taking tylenol for the pain. God is good! I couldn't believe the progress he had made in one week and how fast he is healing. Praise!

My goal for the new year is to keep up on blogging. I enjoy it and hope everyone enjoys reading and finds comfort in the blessing of the Lord. May you all have a very very very MERRY CHRISTMAS and a Happy New year! HUGS!
